21 June 2021 - Happy Midsommar!

21 June 2021 - Venues have begun holding in-person events again here in North Carolina, so I'm reopening the listings on the Shows and Events page. Email me at steve@ncgoth.com with event listings, venue closings, and other updates for any of these pages:

that happened between March 2020 and June 2021, and new and upcoming events!

The COVID-19 pandemic may cause changes at any time to these events so double-check with the venue or event organizers in case of changes that I might not see and be able to update quickly enough.

COVID-19 is still a serious threat so use your best judgement and please be careful. GET VACCINATED, plan outside gatherings, and wear masks, wash hands, keep distance, and stay as safe as possible. If you operate a venue for indoor events, look at what you can do to improve the airflow and the filtering of indoor air. Please consult the CDC for details.

Many, many goth, industrial, and related virtual events can be found posted in the Gothic Streaming Events Facebook group page.

I am happy to list virtual events hosted or performed by people in the North Carolina scene, just email steve@ncgoth.com.

21 May 2021 - Happy World Goth Day 2021 everyone!

There's a ton of virtual and in-person events worldwide for this weekend on the World Goth Day Events page.

Please stay safe and we can hopefully see each other sometime. Keep wearing a mask when in public, indoors, with people who might not be vaccinated, and generally for gatherings as much as possible. Keep social distancing. Above all else get vaccinated, please! Vaccinations are available for anyone 12 years and older now.

1 February 2021

In March 2020 I stopped updating Shows and Events, Clubs, Venues, Locations, Goth Nights and Recurring Events, and the rest of this site because I could not in good conscience encourage anyone to participate in a public gathering during the COVID-19 pandemic. When it is safe for people to breathe other peoples' air I plan to resume those updates.

If you are based in North Carolina, or have a virtual event appealing to those interested in things goth in North Carolina, and that you would like me to help share, just email me at steve@ncgoth.com and we'll figure something out.

In the meantime, everyone stay safe: wear a mask. Get vaccinated as soon as you can. Keep to well-ventilated locations such as outside as much as possible. If you must be near other people keep physically distant as much as you can, keep it short as you can, improve the ventilation as best you can, and wear a mask. See you sometime.

Black Lives Matter. To this end I want to share A Big List of Black-Owned Goth/Punk Brands.

May 22 2020

Happy World Goth Day everyone!

April 30 2020

Today marks twenty years of ncgoth.com that I've been sharing gothic events in North Carolina. No advertisements or income, I just like sharing cool events and places with people.

Thank you to everyone who has sent me new information or corrected old information. I have no idea what things will look like after these times but I think they will still be wonderful. I wish you all well.

- Steve

March 18 2020

The Governor of North Carolina declared a state of emergency due to the COVID-19 pandemic on March 10, 2020. Everything I know of in the near future is canceled or postponed and many venues are closed.

Gathering in even small groups is a public health hazard at the moment so I have removed in-person events from the upcoming Shows and Events page until things are better.

Send me announcements of live-stream events and I'm happy to share them on the Shows and Events page.

I ask that you do what you can to support your favorite artists and venues and their staff who are being hit hard by this sudden downturn: buy music or merch from creators, buy memberships, gift certs, or merch from clubs. This is going to be hard for everyone. Take care of yourself and yours and let's help each other when we can. Stay safe, everyone. I hope all of you stay safe and healthy in this difficult time.

Most recent update 21 June 2021.
